Parts Counter Sales Responsibilities : Assists all “self-service” retails customers in accurately selecting required parts, suggest companion requirements, offer specials, and ensures that the customer is exposed to all available options and alternativesRetrieves (pulls) purchased parts from inventory or if the requested parts are not in inventory determines availability, prepare parts requisition, and submit order as required.Keeps accurate records of special-order partsAnswers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information to customersAssists outside sales representatives with their ordersOrders parts not in stock for required repairs in accordance with company policiesFollows up on special ordered items and notifies service drive employees when receivedObtains credit authorization as required and in accordance with company policiesEnsures all cash, credit, charge, purchase order, invoice and tax-exempt sales are processes in accordance with company policiesIssues credit for parts returned, in accordance with company policies.Displays parts attractively to generate salesReplenishes assigned inventory dailyMaintains inventory on shelves and in bins by reporting items needing to be reordered, identifying any discrepancies in stock levels, and returning unsold items to stockAdvises Parts Manager of any inventory discrepancies and if areas of the department are not in satisfactory conditionAssists in maintaining a balanced inventory consistent with the requirements of the service department, body shop, wholesale accounts, and the “self-service” customerProvides recommendation on pricing parameters in each category that generate sufficient gross profit to produce a satisfactory profit while maintaining customer loyaltyAssists in inventory control to achieve maximum turnover in accordance with goalsMonitors and makes recommendation on how to adjusts inventory to minimize obsolescence of parts in inventoryEnsures that all parts are tagged so that the dealership recovers credit from the factoryConducts inventory control activities and audits as directed by SupervisorsEnsures that the same high-quality level of service provided to outside customers is also provided to internal dealership customers.Works with service drive employee to ensure turnaround of parts needed for jobsMaintains delivery vehicles for delivery programDelivers parts as requestedFollows up on customer concerns and complaints promptlyEscalates any complaints to Parts Department Manager as neededEstablishes and maintains good working relationships with other service drive departments and the sales departmentEstablishes and maintains good working relationships with “self-service” retail customers and wholesale customers to encourage repeat and referral businessCompletes all documents, forms, and reports in accordance with company policyUses proper safety equipment and acts in accordance with company policies, local, state and federal regulationsKeeps abreast of new equipment and tools available and recommends purchasesEnsures that the work areas and customer waiting area are kept cleanFollows all attendance and punctuality standards and adheres to timekeeping standardsFollows the Company Code of Business Ethics and ConductUnderstands and follows all work rules and follows lawful directions from SupervisorsUpholds the company’s non-disclosure and confidentiality policies and agreementsMaintains a professional appearance for self in accordance with company policyAttends pertinent training on requestAttends company meetings as requiredOther duties as assigned Parts Counter Sales Requirements : Excellent customer service skills2 years' experience in a truck / Car dealership environment (preferably in counter sales)High school diploma or the equivalent and one-year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.CAIND-PC
