Our client seeks an experienced and dedicated Plant Manager to join their team. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Plant Manager will ensure a safe and productive work environment.

Key responsibilities include promoting workplace safety, maintaining product quality standards, overseeing production activities, managing deliveries, coordinating with engineering and project management teams, and continuously striving to improve plant efficiencies.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations management, excellent leadership skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Major Responsibilities

  • Promote a safe, injury / accident-free workplace.
  • Focus on product quality.
  • Check completed B.O.M and sketches.
  • All production activities are in conjunction with the production schedule.
  • Set direction in production departments to ensure efficiencies.
  • Oversee customer deliveries and ensure proper processing to meet objectives.
  • Schedule and oversee Production Meetings utilizing Project Managers. Set job priorities.
  • Work closely with the engineering manager to ensure job deliverables are being met.
  • Always be looking to improve plant efficiencies through process improvements and equipment effectiveness assessments.
  • Aid production in manufacturability issues to determine the best approach.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and workload of the team.
  • Participate in customer meetings as needed.
  • Work with the production team to improve on-time delivery results.
  • Percentage of time dedicated to assisting the management team with overflow work as required.
  • Aid in customer issues review to help determine the best course of action.
  • Manager maintenance of facility and equipment.

Management Responsibilities

  • Manage all department lead hands / supervisors.
  • Performing employee performance evaluations, addressing employee performance and corrective action plans for management staff
  • Responsibilities may include interviewing, selecting and hiring new employees.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education :

Degree or Diploma in Engineering or Business is preferred.

Experience and Skill Set :

  • Must have experience in machining and / or welding.
  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • 5-10 years of experience is an asset.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and product specifications.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Solid Works, 3D modeling an asset
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as welding, machining, blasting, and painting.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team-based, collaborative environment.
  • Always represent the Company with integrity in an ethical and legal manner
  • Be a change agent and self-starter motivated by a fast-paced environment.
  • Deep knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Google Sharing Docs, Word, Outlook); working knowledge of ZOOM and Microsoft TEAMS is an asset.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, AWS, and CWB procedures is an asset.
