Sourcing Specialist – Packaging & Raw Materials

Our client is seeking a Sourcing Specialist to support procurement and supply planning by ensuring a reliable supply of packaging and raw materials while building strong supplier partnerships. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing or food production environment and enjoys balancing supplier management, inventory planning, and cost optimization.

What You'll Do

Develop material purchasing plans using customer forecasts and production schedules.
Partner with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of packaging and raw materials.
Monitor inventory levels, supplier lead times, and market trends to minimize supply risks.
Manage supplier contracts, pricing updates, rebates, and invoice discrepancies.
Support new product launches and material substitutions while maintaining quality standards.
Maintain material specifications and work with suppliers on continuous quality improvements.
Identify cost-saving opportunities, mitigate supply chain risks, and provide sourcing recommendations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Planning, Finance, Quality, and Operations to support business objectives.

What We're Looking For

2–3 years of sourcing or procurement experience, with a strong focus on packaging materials.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Commerce, Food Science, or a related discipline.
Experience in manufacturing or food production is considered an asset.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across suppliers and internal teams.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
