Job description

Are you ready to make a meaningful impact on network security and play a vital role in implementing cutting-edge Zero Trust principles? We’re seeking two experienced Senior Network Analysts to join our government client on an initial 12-month contract with opportunities to work onsite in either Edmonton or Calgary. You’ll be at the forefront of a Zero Trust Network project, leveraging your expertise in Cisco Secure Workload to plan, implement, and support a secure, modern network infrastructure across hybrid and cloud environments. Responsibilities

  • achieve a high availability IT network infrastructure and IT network services, in accordance with the government of Alberta, Technology Services, Service Level Agreements.
  • hands-on implementation, upgrading, trouble-shooting of network software and hardware infrastructure.
  • manage and prioritize workload. check and balance the workload against the team requirements, to result in a service delivery model characterized by cross-training, workload sharing and collaborative team effort.
  • effective teamwork and proficient communication with team members and supported ministries.
  • lead and / or participate in networking projects, and plan, design, implement, support and document best practices.
  • participate and contribute to cross-function IT projects by providing technical IT networking know-how and expertise.
  • perform problem diagnosis, troubleshooting and resolution.
  • plan for software and hardware upgrades and / or migrations.
  • develop and maintain documentation.
  • develop network related procedures.
  • provide cross training and knowledge transfer to team members.
  • Qualifications

    Mandatory Requirements :

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field of study.
  • Certification focused on Zero Trust principles, implementation, and maturity models, aligned with frameworks like NIST 800-207, covering micro-segmentation, identity-based access controls, and Zero Trust maturity models.
  • 6 years of experience securing workloads in hybrid or multi-cloud environments, ensuring seamless integration of Zero Trust principles across on-premises and cloud platforms.
  • 6 years of experience deploying / integrating monitoring tools such as Splunk, Cisco Secure Analytics, or Elastic Stack to ensure Zero Trust implementations are actively monitored and anomalies detected.
  • 5 years of experience designing and deploying Zero Trust security models, especially NIST 800-207, including micro-segmentation, identity-based access controls, and least-privilege policies across networks and applications.
  • 5 years of experience in direct involvement creating operational procedures, network diagrams, and policy frameworks tailored for Zero Trust implementations.
  • 5 years of experience deploying, configuring, and managing Cisco Secure Workload, including application flow discovery, policy enforcement, and network segmentation.
  • 5 years of experience implementing ZTNA solutions to replace traditional VPNs, ensuring secure remote access while adhering to Zero Trust principles.
  • Desirable Qualifications :

  • Foundational knowledge on security operations, aligned with Zero Trust principles.
  • 8 years of experience collaborating across teams (server, application, network, and cybersecurity teams) to implement Zero Trust solutions while minimizing operational disruptions.
  • 5 years of experience in public sector or compliance-heavy environments (e.g., NIST, DoD, PCI-DSS).
  • 8 years of experience creating comprehensive documentation, including project plans, progress reports, and post-implementation evaluations.
  • 8 years of experience communicating Zero Trust design benefits, challenges, and status updates to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executives.
  • 8 years of experience training teams and stakeholders on Zero Trust principles, policies, and tools to ensure alignment with organizational security goals.
