Through the National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS), the Government of Canada has embarked on one of the largest procurement projects since the Second World War. The NSS is a nation-building effort to create a sustainable Canadian shipbuilding industry, secure long-term job opportunities and build the next generation of ships for the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy. Through its NSS–related work, Seaspan Shipyards is owning the redevelopment of our domestic shipbuilding industry on the West Coast and delivering on the promise of ships built in Canada, by Canadians.
As the Intern, Naval Architecture you will be responsible for assisting the Director, Concept Design in the successful completion of all assigned engineering tasks from concept preparations through to production engineering and finally to the construction of the vessel.
Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at Capilano Business Park 3, North Vancouver.

Due to the nature of this position, and requirements of the Government of Canada, this position requires the successful candidate to obtain and maintain a Canada Controlled Goods Program approval, Reliability Status (or higher depending on position) security clearance issued by the Government of Canada. All required approvals and clearances must be obtained prior to commencement of employment in any position.
Start Date of Internship: Monday, January 4, 2027.
End Date of Internship: Friday, April 30, 2027 (4-Months).
