Job description

Our Client

Our Client wishes to remain anonymous until the interview process begins. Shortlisted Candidates will be provided with the name of the shop during the pre-screen process, before the formal interview, to allow them the opportunity to conduct their own research and make a more informed decision as to whether or not they wish to remain in consideration.

The Opportunity

We are exclusively looking for a Red Seal Journeyman Collision Repair Technician to join this established team. The successful candidate will be a body specialist, passionate about staying up-to-date on current industry trends and repair practices in an effort to deliver the best overall service possible.

This is a full-time, on-site position located in Courtenay, BC. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates currently residing in British Columbia who are Permanent Residents or Canadian Citizens ONLY. Unfortunately, our Client is unable to provide sponsorship for international applicants at this time.

What Makes This Shop Unique?

Unlike other Collision Shops that conduct preliminary and supplemental estimates throughout the repair process as they uncover damage, this shop focuses on finding ALL the damage and creating a true Repair Plan from the start. Vehicles are brought into the shop and disassembled to uncover hidden damage as part of the estimating process, resulting in a 96% estimating efficiency rating where parts are ordered and repairs are fully mapped out before the car is officially accepted by the shop.

For the Collision Repair Technicians, this upfront investment in the estimating process ensures they are fully informed about the work required before they begin, allowing the Repair Team to maximize their efficiency and ensure the vehicle is repaired to pre-accident condition or better without having to stop partway through, add supplements and wait for approvals and/or parts.

What's in it for You?

  • This is a flat-rate shop, offering skilled technicians the opportunity to earn between $100k and $120k annually, depending on personal volume.

  • Monday-Friday position with REAL work/life balance. NO WEEKENDS!

  • Comprehensive Benefits Program fully covered by the employer (except Disability) plus access to an RRSP program, taking care of your needs today and in the future.

  • Ample opportunities for professional growth through ongoing training and potential for further advancement
  • Annual Christmas bonus and regular company-sponsored team-building events.

What We're Looking For

  • Journeyperson certification in Automotive Body Repair or equivalent experience is required.

  • 2+ years of experience working as a Journeyman in a Collision Repair Shop

  • Strong knowledge of automotive body repair and collision repair procedures.

  • Experience with structural and non-structural vehicle repairs.

  • Ability to read and interpret repair estimates and manufacturer repair procedures.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.

  • Good problem-solving and diagnostic skills.

  • Ability to safely operate shop tools and equipment.

What You'll Be Doing
