Job description

Are you seeking an exciting Mental Health Nurse experience in Canada's remote northern communities of Nunavut? Bayshore HealthCare’s Northern Staffing program has provided high-quality community health care solutions to Canada's North since 1997. Our Healthcare Professionals work closely with diverse Indigenous communities (First Nations, Inuit and Métis), providing care to community members.

We hire passionate team-members from all over Canada who travel on assignments to remote northern communities of British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut. We provide a unique way to experience an expanded clinical scope of practice while enjoying an adventure at the same time! Average assignment durations vary from 2 to 6 weeks.

Are you a qualified Registered Nurse with a passion to make a difference in the lives of those you care for? Have you thought about travelling for work to expand your personal and professional growth in health care? We provide a unique way to experience an expanded clinical scope of practice while enjoying an adventure at the same time! Average assignment duration is 6 weeks.

The Work You Will Do

  • Collaborate with Community Health Nurses in clinics to provide support
  • Assess patients and develop individualized care plans
  • Follow up and reach out to community members. Assist patients
  • In some cases, you may be the sole MHN in the community, so it is essential to be comfortable working independently with limited resources

Why Bayshore?

  • Enjoy fully paid & planned travel assignments while doing what you love
  • Highly competitive compensation packages, incentives & bonuses
  • Comprehensive preparation through orientation and training
  • Continual learning and professional development
  • Diverse assignments with flexible schedules
  • Balance work to fit your life
  • 24 / 7 support from a caring and dedicated team who welcomes you from your first day
  • Who You Are

  • You are a graduate from an accredited School of Nursing and have a nursing license through the governing body in good standing
  • You are a licensed Nurse registered in good standing
  • You have or are willing to obtain a nursing license through the regulating body in the province or territory you wish to work
  • You meet the required work experience
  • Mandatory skillsets and additional training requirements and reimbursements will be discussed during interview
  • Bayshore is committed to a high quality and safe environment for both our staff and clients / patients. Dependent upon Provincial government regulations, and the position being applied for, new hires may be required to provide proof of vaccination against illnesses such as COVID-19, Hepatitis, Seasonal Flu etc. Medical exemptions or any other kinds of requested exemptions based upon Human Rights Code will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

At Bayshore Healthcare, our commitment to Equity, Diversity & Inclusion is our strength. This is how we bring our vision of being the difference in the lives of those we care for, work with and in our communities. We have a great sense of pride in creating a culture of belonging, where individual differences are embraced and celebrated, through programs, resources and policies that support each individual's purpose, potential and wellbeing. Bayshore operates in accordance with the applicable Provincial Human Rights Codes.
