Job description6+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a similar role. Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred. Proficiency in Excel (Intermediate level), with the ability to create complex spreadsheets, analyze data, and generate financial reports. Experience using Sage 300 and Salesforce (or similar software). Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures. Excellent organizational and time management skills. High attention to detail and accuracy in financial data. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Our client in Edmonton is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join their team on a contract basis. The Accounting Specialist will play a key role in supporting the daily accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. This position requires a solid understanding of accounting principles, combined with proficiency in Excel, Sage 300, and Salesforce. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and help manage financial data efficiently.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions.
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements on a monthly basis.
- Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, including journal entries and accruals.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Use Excel to perform data analysis and prepare reports for management, including financial trends and projections.
- Manage Sage 300 system for accounts and financial data, ensuring accurate entry and reporting.
- Collaborate with teams to maintain and update financial information in Salesforce.
- Prepare and assist in audit processes and provide supporting documentation as required.
- Assist with tax preparation and filing, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Provide support to management on financial queries and reports.
