We are seeking a skilled Production Engineer to join a dynamic team in North York for a 12-month contract with the strong opportunity to become permanent.
In this role, you will support the production of advanced medical imaging equipment, contributing throughout the entire manufacturing process—from assembly and testing to troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
If you want to play a key role in delivering high-quality products that make a real difference in global healthcare, we want to hear from you!

Advantages
-Competitive Pay: Earn a lucrative hourly rate of $30.00 - $40.00/hr, commensurate with your experience.
-Innovative Environment: Gain hands-on exposure to cutting-edge medical imaging technology and advanced product development.
-Collaborative Culture: Work closely with a multidisciplinary, supportive team of engineers, operations, and quality professionals.
-Impactful Work: Contribute directly to the manufacturing of high-quality products that support healthcare professionals and patients worldwide.

Responsibilities
-Assembly & Testing: Assemble, integrate, and test medical imaging systems and subassemblies, including optical, mechanical, and electronic components. Perform system calibration, verification, and final testing.
-Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, optical, and system-level issues during production and product servicing.
-Documentation & ECOs: Maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, production documentation, and engineering records. Assist with engineering change orders (ECOs) and product improvements.
-Quality Compliance: Ensure all work strictly complies with ISO 13485 quality standards and established manufacturing procedures.
-Continuous Improvement: Participate in root cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives. Support prototype builds and new product introductions.
-System Support: Install and configure embedded software and system applications. Support the refurbishment and repair of returned and demonstration units.

Qualifications
Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Biomedical Engineering Technology, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in a production engineering, manufacturing engineering, or engineering technologist role.

Technical Skills: Proven experience assembling, testing, and troubleshooting complex electro-mechanical systems. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.

Soft Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent problem-solving skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating in a cross-functional team.

Assets:

Experience in medical device manufacturing or regulated industries, with knowledge of ISO 13485 (or similar QMS).

Experience with optical alignment, soldering, functional testing, calibration, or embedded systems.

Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, BOM management, and supporting non-conformances or CAPA activities.

Summary
