Job description

About us:

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician to support the ongoing maintenance and repair of our pallet manufacturing equipment and facility. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on heavy equipment experience, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently to minimize downtime.

What you will do:

  1. Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on pallet manufacturing equipment and heavy machinery
  2. Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues
  3. Maintain and repair forklifts, loaders, saws, conveyors, and other production equipment
  4. Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and ensure equipment safety
  5. Complete maintenance logs and work orders accurately
  6. Coordinate with production team to minimize downtime and maintain workflow
  7. Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and company policies
  8. Assist Maintenance staff with general facility maintenance as required

What you require:

  1. Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or warehouse environment
  2. Mandatory: Hands-on experience with heavy equipment (forklifts, loaders, or similar machinery)
  3. Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
  4. Basic knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, and pneumatic systems
  5. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  6. Valid forklift license or willingness to obtain one
