Our client, a prominent leader in the manufacturing & logistics sector, is looking for a dedicated and energetic Packer to join their fast-paced operations in Scarborough. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who thrives in a physical environment and takes pride in the precision of outbound shipments. As a Packer in the manufacturing & logistics industry, you will play a critical role in ensuring that products are securely prepared for transit, maintaining the high standards our client is known for. This temporary 3-month contract offers a stable Monday to Friday schedule, perfect for those seeking a consistent day shift and a great work-life balance.

In this manufacturing & logistics role, speed and stamina are key. You will be responsible for packing boxes and preparing skids for outbound shipments, ensuring every item is handled with care. While this position is based in Scarborough, we occasionally see requirements for bilingual support; however, for this specific Packer position, the primary language of operation is English. Responsibilities
• Expertly pack products into boxes ensuring optimal space utilization and safety for outbound shipments.
• Build and wrap skids/pallets accurately to meet shipping specifications within the manufacturing & logistics facility.
• Maintain a high pace of movement over long periods to meet strict daily shipping deadlines.
• Conduct visual quality checks on all items before they are packed to ensure quality standards are met.
• Use specialized tools to secure shipments, including tape dispensers, shrink wrap, and strapping equipment.
• Label all outbound boxes and skids clearly and accurately for logistics tracking and routing.
• Collaborate effectively with the warehouse team to maintain an organized and safe manufacturing & logistics environment.
• Follow all established health and safety protocols to ensure a secure workplace for yourself and your colleagues.

Qualifications
• Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience as a Packer or in a similar manufacturing & logistics role.
• Must be able to lift upwards of 40 lbs repetitively for the duration of the shift.
• Experience packing boxes and preparing skids for outbound shipments is mandatory.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move quickly for long periods in a warehouse setting.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada for the duration of the 3-month contract.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality for the specified afternoon shift hours.

Skills

• Proven ability to work at a fast pace consistently throughout an afternoon shift.
• Strong spatial awareness for efficient box packing and pallet building.
• Excellent attention to detail to ensure labels and shipping counts are 100% accurate.
• High level of physical stamina and endurance for repetitive lifting and packing tasks.
• Ability to work cohesively within a team-oriented manufacturing & logistics environment.
• Strong communication skills to report any inventory or packaging discrepancies to the supervisor.
