The role involves leading both the development phase of the products and related manufacturing processes based on Product Marketing requirements and overseeing production and packaging activities to ensure successful product delivery and stable manufacturing processes within the established timeframe. The incumbent also provides technical insight, Bill of Materials (BOM), and product costing with a goal of maximizing product profitability and supporting commercial success. The Product Engineer must work collaboratively with different business areas and external vendors to meet product launch deadlines.
Upon hiring as a Product Engineer on a permanent position, the successful incumbent will be assigned to an 18-month term to support the implementation of a new ERP system, with a focus of product-related processes - product master data, Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings and product costing.
Your Responsibilities :

- Lead the product development activities, related tooling requirements and production, and the minting production process in order to meet business case assumptions and key milestones.
- Develop tooling specifications and process specifications for the assigned products. Develop corrective action plans for products deviating from baseline business case costing. Ensure corrective actions are documented and communicated for future reference.
- Develop detailed product costing to meet both Product requirements and production profitability which feeds into the business case assumptions for production and marketing.
- Participate in problem analysis and solution recommendation; hands-on approach is a requirement.
- Provide hands-on skills to complete projects related to precious metal casting, processing and material handling.
- Proactively support all departments (Quality, Process Engineering, Production, Packaging, etc.) and provide technical assistance relating to respective coin products and production.
- Participate in problem analysis and solution recommendation; hands-on approach is an asset.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects relating to processes, materials, machinery and technology.
- Participate in the review of Environmental and Health and Safety requirements relating to the manufacturing process.
