Production Supervisor, Days, 12 hour continental shift


Job Description

*Responsibilities: Supervise day to day manufacturing operations. Ensure standard operating procedures, good manufacturing practices, departmental processes and all safety rules and OHSA regulations are being observed at all times by all employees. Provide guidance on equipment and product problems. Recommend opportunities to improve site operations in the areas of quality, cost, delivery and safety. Monitor process, materials and surroundings. Organize, plan, prioritize work assignments and production sequences to meet production goals; analyze and evaluate data, reporting results to management through charts and production reports. Ensure machinery and equipment are performing at capacity and within established metrics. Troubleshoot and solve problems and issues that arise with equipment, material and staff. Requisition materials, supplies, equipment parts and repair services. Guide, direct and coordinate the activities of staff. Responsible to train, coach, motivate, counsel, discipline, employee development and performance management of staff.


Qualifications

Post secondary training/diploma.

*Requirements: Must be able to work a 12 hour Day Continental shift. 3 - 5 years' experience as a Supervisor in a plastics/extrusion manufacturing environment. Demonstrated ability to problem solve and troubleshoot various equipment operations to minimize downtime and put forward corrective actions. Strong communicator, both written and verbal, confident, decisive, able to deal with conflict. Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Word, Excel, Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision). Strong time management and problem solving skills with ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines. React positively to change; can demonstrate flixibility and adaptability.
