Job description

Layfield is looking to add Manufacturing Helpers to our Manufacturing team at our Edmonton facility. As a key member of the Manufacturing team, this position is responsible for assisting in the operation of the lamination process, from preparing materials to finishing the product. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, adherence to safety protocols, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Comply with all safety protocols, including proper PPE usage, adherence to instructions, and compliance with the companys regulations and training.
  • Load and unload raw materials onto the machines.
  • Safely operate forklifts.
  • Assist in the roll change process.
  • Printing and labelling rolls.
  • Cleaning the lamination plates.
  • Maintaining a well-organized and clean work area that meets 5S requirements.
  • Performing other labour duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Knowledge

  • Driven, self-starter with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work day and night shifts.

Education & Experience

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Forklift certification.
  • High school or GED is desired.
