Overview
About The Role The Contracts Manager provides commercial and contractual leadership across complex, high-risk, and high-value construction projects. The role is responsible for developing and implementing contract and procurement strategies, managing the full contract lifecycle from pre-award through close-out, managing subcontracts, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring commercial, contractual, and financial objectives are achieved.

Essential Functions
- Create innovative agreements that bring added value to our business
- Provide commercial leadership across construction projects, contribute to the development of contract and procurement strategies and lead the negotiation, administration, and delivery of complex, high-risk, and high-value contracts
- Establish and implement Commercial and Contract Management plans to ensure commercial objectives, contractual obligations, and project outcomes are achieved
- Develop robust commercial controls, reporting frameworks, and risk mitigation strategies, escalating key commercial risks and opportunities to senior management
- Oversee all commercial, contractual, and financial aspects of assigned construction contracts, ensuring compliance with contract terms and conditions
- Work closely with internal and external project teams to align commercial outcomes with construction programs and minimize cost, schedule, and delivery impacts
- Lead stakeholder engagement to ensure contractual compliance and effective commercial governance
- Review and approve contract variations, claims, and change events, assessing cost, time, and risk impacts
- Managing the contract from pre-award to close-out; ensure alignment between commercial, legal, and technical documents; maintain accurate contract records and audit trails
- Oversee invoice certification, payment processes, contract close-out, and final account settlement
- Lead contractor and supplier commercial performance management, including monitoring cost, schedule, quality, and contractual performance
- Chair or participate in commercial and progress review meetings and drive corrective actions to ensure contractual compliance and value for money
- Develop and maintain commercial management frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with organizational requirements and audit standards
- Lead claim avoidance, dispute resolution, and commercial risk mitigation strategies, including the preparation and review of contractual correspondence and formal notices
- Provide leadership and direction to commercial and contract administration teams, including workforce planning, recruitment, capability development, mentoring, and performance management, in alignment with project and organizational objectives
- Ensure all subcontracts adhere to all established policies and procedures
- Regular and predictable attendance

- Essential Functions of this position are to be performed at a Company-designated office or field location
