As a Lab Assistant you will be responsible for processing of laboratory specimens and/or entering requisitions and/or results accurately and in a timely manner and ensure quality control checks and standards are run as required.Your contributions will make a difference and will greatly impact the downstream solutions and treatment critical to saving someone’s life. Follows established protocol(s) in Specimen Processing
Ensures that all samples are properly identified, data enter, and labeled
Follows established protocol(s) for the handling of unsuitable samples
Ensures all client inquiries and problems are handled in a courteous and professional manner
Other duties as assigned

What YOU bring to the role:

Completion of secondary-school level education and a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant training program
Experience providing exceptional, professional customer focused service in a demanding and frequently changing environment
Demonstrated ability to self-manage, prioritize and collaborate in a team-oriented, high volume, time-sensitive environment
Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) at an intermediate level
Knowledge of laboratory procedures and ability to apply that knowledge in troubleshooting issues and providing recommendations for solutions

Nice to have: · Knowledge of AS400 Data Entry system/LIS Working Conditions

Normal office environment
Medical laboratory environment
Required walking with repetitive motions
May sit or stand for prolonged period of time with extensive computer use
Required to lift a maximum of 30 pounds as required
Exposed to biohazardous substances, temperature differences and noise variances
