As part of the Child, Youth & Emerging Adult Program (CYEAP), Child, Youth and Family Services (CYFS) provides care and treatment to children and youth between the ages of 6 and 24. Clients and their families served by CYFS are offered specialized services and customized care across an inpatient, day treatment, and outpatient continuum of care. These services are closely aligned with our Research Centres including the McCain Centre for Child, Youth and Family Mental Health and the Cundill Centre for Child and Youth Depression.
Position Description :
CYFS is seeking applications for a part-time, temporary (3 months) Psychometrist for clinical duties primarily (but not exclusively) in the area of youth with our Youth Justice Assessment Clinic. Reporting to the Senior Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for clinical psychological assessment duties. You will provide psychological / psychometric assessment to our Youth Justice Assessment Clinic. Your duties include conducting psychological testing, administering and interpreting psychological measures, preparing psychological assessment reports, and providing feedback to staff and to families. In addition, you will be required to conduct interviews with families and support team members in the collection of collateral information relevant to assessments. Knowledge and experience providing culturally competent clinical assessment is considered an asset and experience working with justice-involved youth is essential. You will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable regulatory requirements. Ability to work flexible hours is a requirement. This position is located at 80 Workman Way.
The successful candidate will possess a Master's degree in Psychology, with focused training and experience with children and adolescents. The successful candidate will have 2 years experience in conducting standardized intellectual and neuropsychological tests with children and youth, as well as experience administering, scoring and interpreting standardized parent and teacher report questionnaires. A strong background in learning and developmental disabilities is considered an asset and experience working with justice-involved youth is required. Computer skills, including word processing and interpretation of computer-generated test reports, are essential. Your strengths include excellent writing skills and the ability to work within specific deadlines. You will also possess strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively and collegially as a team member in a dynamic multidisciplinary environment. Bilingualism (French / English) is an asset.
