Our Quality team is responsible for coordinating and performing visual and dimensional inspections of in-process and completed components. If you would be described by others as organized, detailed, adaptable, self-motivated and easy to work with, you would be an asset to this position. This person will use their sound professional relationship and communication skills to effectively collaborate with our shop personnel. Your time will be shared between programming / operating Zeiss CMMs and shopfloor inspection. You will use the latest in CMM technology in a company building bearings for the most demanding applications on earth, under the earth, and above the earth.
Responsibilities :
Program and operate CMMs, including prove out of programs.
Perform CMM / manual first off, in process and final inspections as required, documenting results.
Perform receiving inspections of product and / or processes as required.
Ensure that non-conforming parts are documented, tagged and the required disposition carried out.
Performs other tasks in the Quality Department as needed including calibrations, manual inspections, surface finish inspections, and setting up gauges for shop floor use.
Requirements :
Experience as a Quality Inspector in a manufacturing environment required.
Experience programming and operating Zeiss CMMs is required. Familiarity with Calypso / PiWeb preferred.
Experience reading and interpreting drawings required. The ability to understand and interpret GD&T is an asset.
Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers and other dimension verification tools.
Strong computer skills.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a team.
Need to be able to troubleshoot problems.
Position is on the day shift, but you must be willing to work evening shift of 4 : 00 p.m. – 2 : 00 a.m. Monday - Thursday with a shift premium if needed occasionally.
