Job description

Senior Journeyperson Plumber — Commercial, Service & Installation

Pay: $38.00–$52.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Day shift, with possible overtime, service calls, or project-based work depending on hiring needs

About the Role

We are seeking experienced plumbers for current and upcoming plumbing opportunities.

This position is best suited to a senior-level plumber or journeyperson plumber with strong troubleshooting skills, solid technical knowledge, and experience working independently on commercial, residential, institutional, or light industrial plumbing systems.

The ideal candidate is confident with installation, repair, maintenance, diagnostics, code requirements, job-site safety, and communication with supervisors, clients, inspectors, and other trades.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, fixtures, piping, valves, drains, water lines, and related equipment
  • Diagnose plumbing issues and complete safe, accurate repairs
  • Perform rough-in, finishing, service, maintenance, retrofit, and installation plumbing work
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, specifications, service notes, and work orders
  • Support commercial, residential, institutional, or light industrial projects depending on hiring needs
  • Inspect work areas, identify plumbing issues, and recommend practical solutions
  • Follow applicable plumbing codes, safety procedures, site rules, and permit requirements
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors, clients, inspectors, and other trades
  • Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and job documentation
  • Support apprentices, helpers, or junior workers when required

Qualifications

  • Journeyperson plumber certification, provincial plumbing licence, or equivalent senior-level plumbing experience required where applicable
  • Strong plumbing experience in service, installation, maintenance, construction, or retrofit work
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Experience with commercial plumbing systems is considered an asset
  • Strong troubleshooting and mechanical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read drawings, follow specifications, and complete accurate work
  • Valid driver’s licence may be required depending on the role
  • Safety tickets, gas certification, backflow certification, or additional trade qualifications are considered assets

Ideal Candidate

You may be a strong fit if you are an experienced plumber who:

  • Takes pride in clean, accurate workmanship
  • Can manage plumbing tasks from start to finish
  • Communicates professionally with supervisors, clients, and other trades
  • Understands safety, code requirements, and job-site expectations
  • Can troubleshoot issues and recommend practical repairs or solutions
  • Is comfortable working in service, construction, commercial, residential, or mixed plumbing environments

This role is not intended for entry-level helpers. It is best suited to experienced plumbers, journeypersons, lead hands, and senior plumbing technicians who are comfortable taking responsibility for safe and reliable plumbing work.

Compensation

$38.00–$52.00 per hour

Final compensation may depend on:

  • Experience level
  • Certification or licensing
  • Commercial, residential, service, or industrial background
  • Ability to work independently
  • Additional tickets or dual-trade qualifications
  • Overtime, service-call, travel, or project requirements

How to Apply

Submit your resume and include details about your plumbing experience, certifications, service background, project experience, and availability.

Qualified applicants may be contacted when their background matches a current or upcoming hiring need.
