Job descriptionUniversity degree or college diploma in computer science or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. A minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated experience with Java-based application development using Eclipse IDE, preferably with Oracle RDBMS in the backend. A minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated experience with RDBMS databases, solid understanding of SQL. Demonstrated experience in supporting applications with high-criticality, availability, reliability, and security requirements. Demonstrated experience with Findur or Endur. Candidates without direct experience are encouraged to apply if they have a strong background in financial technology platforms and demonstrate the ability to learn new systems quickly, (derivative software). Demonstrated experience with Agile projects (SCRUM) Demonstrated experience with performance testing. Demonstrated experience with financial applications / systems. Demonstrated experience with data warehouses. Demonstrated experience with DevOps (Jenkins, GitHUB)
Our Ottawa client has a 3 year remote contract opportunity for a Java Developer.
Applicants must come from the banking or financial industry with experience in derivative software
- Analyze, design, and implement enhancements to meet business requirements (regulatory driven and technology evergreening)
- Perform technical and root-cause analysis on issues and make recommendation for correction.
- Promote development practices such as test-driven development and DevOps.
- Adopt and champion the current frameworks that have been built to automate and modernize the Findur application (derivative software).
