At Enbridge, we are committed to delivering safe, reliable energy while advancing innovation, operational excellence, and technology modernization. We are seeking an experienced IT Middleware Advisor to join our Technology & Information Services team in North York, Ontario.

In this role, you will help ensure Enbridge’s enterprise applications are securely connected, highly available, and performing reliably across critical business processes. You will design, implement, support, and continuously improve Oracle Fusion Middleware platforms, including Oracle WebLogic Server, Oracle SOA Suite, and Oracle Service Bus. Working closely with application, infrastructure, security, database, and vendor teams, you will provide technical leadership for middleware architecture, lifecycle management, integration delivery, and operational stability.

We'd love to hear from you! Apply today for this extraordinary opportunity with Enbridge!

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the design, implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of Oracle Fusion Middleware solutions, with a focus on Oracle WebLogic Server 12c/14c, Oracle SOA Suite, and Oracle Service Bus (OSB), to support enterprise application integrations and critical business services.

  • Provide technical leadership and architectural recommendations for middleware platforms, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, resilient, supportable, and aligned with enterprise standards.

  • Support production middleware environments, including incident resolution, root cause analysis, problem management, operational improvements, and coordination of planned changes.

  • Plan and execute middleware lifecycle activities, including upgrades, patching, certificate renewals, configuration changes, capacity planning, and performance tuning.

  • Configure and maintain high availability, clustering, disaster recovery, monitoring, logging, and security controls across middleware environments.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to middleware infrastructure, application deployments, integrations, JVM performance, connectivity, SSL/TLS, and platform stability.

  • Automate routine administration, configuration, deployment, and monitoring activities using tools and scripting such as Ansible, WLST, Shell, Python, or other approved automation methods.

  • Collaborate with developers, system administrators, database administrators, security teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to define requirements, resolve integration challenges, and deliver reliable solutions.

  • Act as a technical mentor and advisor to team members, promoting knowledge sharing, operational discipline, and middleware best practices.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, installation guides, configuration standards, runbooks, and operational procedures.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with 4+ years of directly related experience designing, implementing, administering, and supporting Oracle Fusion Middleware platforms.

  • Hands-on experience administering Oracle WebLogic Server, Oracle SOA Suite, and Oracle Service Bus in enterprise production environments.

  • Strong knowledge of Oracle WebLogic administration, configuration, deployment, clustering, high availability, patching, and performance tuning.

  • Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems, middleware log analysis, JVM tuning, SSL/TLS certificates, keystores, connectivity troubleshooting, and deployment issue resolution.

  • Proficiency with scripting and automation tools such as Ansible, WLST, Shell, Python, or similar technologies for administration, configuration, and deployment activities.

  • Understanding of ITIL practices, including incident, problem, change, release, and configuration management.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues and drive them to resolution in a production environment.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across application, infrastructure, security, database, vendor, and business teams.

Preferred:

  • Experience with automated deployments, monitoring, observability, and alerting tools.

  • Experience with Oracle HTTP Server, load balancing technologies, Oracle Enterprise Manager, or related middleware monitoring and administration tools.

  • Experience with cloud platforms, middleware modernization, or DevOps practices.

  • Relevant Oracle certifications, such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Oracle Certified Expert (OCE), or certifications related to WebLogic, SOA Suite, or cloud technologies, would be an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment with occasional travel to other Enbridge office locations.

  • This role will require participation in planned after-hours work, production change windows, incident response, and an on-call support rotation, based on business and operational needs.

Salary Ranges from $88,000.00 – $125,000.00 CAD for Ontario locations based upon candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity. Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.

Benefits:

  • A flexible benefits program that allows each employee to select the level of coverage needed for their family in the areas of health, dental, insurance and disability.

  • A paid maternity and parental leave benefit that offers up to 20 weeks of paid leave for birth-giving parents and up to 12 weeks for other eligible parents, providing flexibility and support during this important life event.

  • Valuable retirement savings plans, including a savings plan with company stock as an investment option.

  • Paid time off/vacation/sick, plus paid personal days off (depending on location), and paid holidays.

  • An Employee and Family Assistance Program.

  • A Wellness Program, which focuses on supporting healthier employees by providing tools, resources, and opportunities to improve physical, mental, social, and financial well-being.

  • Enbridge’s FlexWork (hybrid work model) offers eligible employees (Manager and below) the option to work from home on Wednesdays and Fridays, opt for a compressed work week schedule, or have flexible start and end times. Role requirements determine your eligibility for each option.
