Job description

The Position

Sales Associates in our stores are energetic team players with a passion for helping customers. You'll greet clients, answer questions, and recommend products and solutions to meet their needs.

Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to jump in and solve problems quickly will help you succeed. In this role, you'll ensure customers leave the store satisfied while supporting the store's overall success and growth.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist customers as they enter our store.
  • Provide information about products/services
  • Assist in locating product either in store, or on homehardware.com.
  • Record repeat customer requests for product and follow-up when product arrives at the store.
  • Advise the designated manager of shortages, damaged goods, back-orders etc.
  • Process special orders for non-stock or out of stock items where appropriate.
  • Build special displays and signage for sales, promotions and other special events.
  • Keep shelves stocked, neat and clean. And ensure storage area is maintained and orderly.
  • Check incoming merchandise against invoices to spot shortages, damaged goods, back-orders, etc.
  • Unload merchandise as it is delivered.
  • Follow all policies and procedures and maintain standards according to store policy.
  • Work in a safe manner in accordance to provincial and federal safety legislation. Report any potential hazards and unsafe behavior to management in order to have the situation corrected

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent, positive communication skills
  • Willingness and desire to learn
  • Experience in building products considered an asset.
