Job Title : Carpenter
Job Type : Full-time, permanent
Wage Rate and Hours : $31 per hour, 40 hours per week
Start date : as soon as possible
Job Location : various locations across Nova Scotia.
Job Requirements
Education : High School Education.
Experience : 1-2 years of related experience as a Carpenter is required.
Construction Projects : Residential, Commercial.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities : Physically demanding; combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling.
Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
- Fit and install doors, stairs, moulding and hardware
- Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures as per job requirement
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes using measuring tools
