GEI is seeking motivated and enthusiastic Civil Engineering Interns to join our team in 2026. Under the guidance of senior engineers, interns will support a wide range of projects across municipal infrastructure, land development, linear infrastructure, and infrastructure planning.
This is a great opportunity for students to apply classroom knowledge to real-world engineering projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and gain exposure to various aspects of civil engineering practice.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties
- Assist in the development of civil engineering designs for municipal linear infrastructure (watermains, sanitary sewers, forcemains, storm sewers, outfalls, and roads).
- Support site civil design activities, including grading, yard piping, and access planning.
- Contribute to planning and analysis work, including hydraulic modeling, servicing studies, and infrastructure planning.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across environmental, geotechnical, and planning disciplines.
- Support the preparation of reports, plans, technical memos, and cost estimates.
- Assist with area servicing plans, master planning, and other infrastructure planning initiatives.
- Provide general support to other Civil, Land Development, Structural, and Water / Wastewater teams as needed.
