The City of Iqaluit is looking for an experienced Building Custodian for the Iqaluit Aquatic Centre!

Salary : $56,410.49 per annum, 35 hour / week

This employment opportunity is open to Iqaluit Residents.
Under the direction of the Facilities Coordinator, the Building Custodian will perform an array of janitorial duties. Building Custodians are responsible for keeping the facilities clean and sanitary.
In this role, you would find yourself mopping, polishing and maintaining floors, dusting, washing windows and walls, cleaning washrooms including toilets and urinals, emptying garbage receptacles and cleanup both in and outdoors. You would also ensure the entrances are shoveled and clear for the safety of guests. This position will report to the Iqaluit Aquatic Centre, and may require occasional reporting to other City facilities.
Requirements :
- Minimum Grade 10 education;
- Experience performing janitorial duties;
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License ;
- Attention to detail for the cleanliness of the facilities, and maintaining accurate records of cleaning logs and inventory of products;
- Knowledge and or experience with WHMIS;
- CPR and First Aid certification or the ability to obtain;
- Punctuality and reliability;
- In good physical condition with the ability to lift up to 50lbs;
- Availability to work Wednesday to Sunday 1-9 p.m. with flexibility for changes for program requirements and facility bookings.
Assets include the ability to speak and write in both English and Inuktitut.
Equivalencies that include a combination of education and experience may be considered.
Due to the nature of this position, the successful candidate would be required to submit an acceptable Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check, as well as a clear driver’s abstract.
