Job description

About BELFOR Property Restoration

At BELFOR, we restore more than property, we deliver turnkey solutions to restore peace of mind for homeowners and businesses after disasters. With core values of integrity, teamwork, and accountability, we invest in our employees’ growth, providing the tools and support needed to succeed in a thriving, fast-growing industry.

Why Join Our Team?

  • Work for a respected and established leader in the Restoration sector;

  • Competitive compensation package;

  • Benefit package including medical and dental coverage;

  • Internal growth and advancement opportunities;

  • Paid vacation time;

  • RRSP program with employer matching;

  • Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP); and

  • Company fleet vehicle, phone and laptop.

What You'll Do

As a Large Loss Project Manager, you’ll be the linchpin holding together major restoration efforts — navigating insurance protocols, client expectations, and construction logistics. You’ll take charge from the moment disaster strikes through to final restoration.

  • Lead and manage large-scale, complex, and high-risk/high-profile restoration projects, ensuring every detail meets company, client, and insurance standards;

  • Visit and assess damaged job sites to scope work, generate precise floor plans, and craft detailed Xactimate estimates;

  • Build and oversee project plans, including timelines, budgets, and quality standards;

  • Coordinate teams, subcontractors, and trades to deliver top-tier work, on time;

  • Own client relationships, acting as their main point of contact and delivering clear, empathetic communication;

  • Manage documentation and updates in both internal and insurance systems to ensure transparency;

  • Obtain work authorizations, permits, and approvals to get projects rolling smoothly;

  • Keep projects financially on track—handling billings, collections, and final reconciliations with precision;

  • Partner with Safety Coordinators to enforce safety policies and support site inspections;

  • Mentor and lead team members, fostering growth and accountability;

  • Be ready to respond to after-hours emergencies and lead recovery efforts in critical situations; and

  • Conduct regular project reviews and audits, always looking for ways to improve and innovate.

What You Bring

  • Post-secondary diploma, degree or certification in Project Management, or similar;

  • Expertise in complex claims management, advanced estimating techniques, and managing large-scale projects in residential or commercial restoration;

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills to oversee multiple high-stakes projects simultaneously;

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience managing high-stakes client relationships;

  • Excellent critical thinking, decision-making and problem-solving skills;

  • Attention to detail and a keen sense of safeguarding other people’s property and information;

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite; and

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Nice to Have

  • 2+ years of experience within the construction, restoration or insurance industry;

  • Experience with sales and contract management; and

  • Proficiency in JD Edwards, Xactimate/Xactanalysis.

Working Conditions

  • Due to the nature of our business, this position will work normal business hours but may be required to work in the evenings, on-call, or outside normal working hours;

  • Perform tasks requiring mobility in tight or confined spaces, sustained physical activity (standing, lifting, walking, bending, kneeling), and working at heights over 5 feet as required; and

  • Regular travel to job sites is required.
