About the Opportunity
  • Prepare financial statements and reports for companies within the portfolio.
  • Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end procedures.
  • Prepare financial statements for tax filings – US and Canadian.
  • Prepare reports for the annual audit.
  • Overall responsible in maintaining integrity and accuracy of property records.
  • Coordinate authorization of funding requests and construction draws.
  • Prepare wire payments of properties.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliation of the properties.
  • Help provide innovative solutions to accounting and operational matters.
  • Overall responsible in maintaining integrity and accuracy of property records.
  • Filing of HST returns.
  • Prepare monthly cash forecast for the portfolio and request funding from the fund.
  • Act as back up to other members of the accounting team.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
About You
  • At least three years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Post secondary degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration.
  • CPA designation or working towards an accounting designation is preferred.
  • Real Estate accounting experience an asset.
  • Experience in Canadian / US tax reporting and preparation of T5013 and T3 slips.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel (ability to create and maintain clearly formatted worksheets).
  • Experience in Yardi would be an asset.
  • Strong communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to think analytically and conduct independent investigations.
  • Results oriented and the ability to work under tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • The ability to continuously learn about commercial real estate and financial operations.

Pay Range:
$70,000 - $85,000 per year
