Compensation: $120,000–$150,000 base salary, depending on experience
Our client is a well-established General Contractor with a strong pipeline of long-term care and institutional projects throughout Brampton and the surrounding GTA. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add an experienced Site Superintendent to their construction team.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing interior and finishing scopes on large construction projects, particularly within long-term care, healthcare, retirement, institutional, or other complex ICI environments.
However, our client is also open to considering a well-rounded ICI Superintendent with broader full-cycle construction experience. They have flexibility within their existing site team and can reorganize responsibilities around the strengths of the right individual.
Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day construction activities on site from mobilization through completion and turnover.
Coordinate subcontractors, trades, suppliers, consultants, and internal project staff.
Oversee interior and finishing scopes including drywall, ceilings, flooring, millwork, painting, doors and hardware, fixtures, and final finishes.
Maintain project schedules and ensure work progresses in accordance with key milestones.
Coordinate closely with the Project Manager and project team regarding scheduling, procurement, RFIs, changes, and site issues.
Ensure construction work complies with project drawings, specifications, building codes, and contractual requirements.
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality, productivity, and workmanship.
Manage deficiencies, punch lists, inspections, commissioning, and project closeout.
Maintain a strong focus on site safety and ensure compliance with company policies and Ontario health and safety requirements.
Chair or participate in site meetings with trades, consultants, owners, and project stakeholders.
Identify potential scheduling or construction issues early and implement practical solutions.
Maintain accurate site documentation, daily reports, records, and progress updates.
Support the successful turnover and occupancy of completed areas.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience working as a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or Site Supervisor with a General Contractor.
Strong ICI construction experience within Ontario.
Experience with long-term care, healthcare, retirement, institutional, commercial, or multi-residential projects is considered highly desirable.
Strong interior and finishing experience is preferred.
Candidates with broader full-cycle ICI construction experience will also be considered.
Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and trade coordination.
Experience managing multiple subcontractors and construction activities simultaneously.
Strong knowledge of Ontario construction practices, building codes, and health and safety requirements.
Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Ability to identify problems quickly and coordinate practical solutions in a fast-paced site environment.
Strong attention to quality, detail, scheduling, and project delivery.
Compensation & Opportunity
