Executive administrator Jobs in Gatineau, QC

We’re looking for an experienced Database Administrator for a hybrid role in Ottawa or Calgary. You’ll manage enterprise databases in on-premises and Azure cloud environments, lead migrations to Azure SQL and Oracle Exadata, design high availability and disaster recovery solutions, and automate deployments using Terraform, ARM, Bicep, and PowerShell. Candidates should have 5+ years of DBA experience with Oracle 19c, SQL Server 2019+, Azure SQL PaaS, Oracle Exadata, Data Guard, RAC, RMAN, and PostgreSQL on Azure. Azure and Oracle cloud certifications are a plus. This is an opportunity to work on mission-critical database initiatives in a hybrid cloud environment.

Responsibilities
•Install, configure, and maintain Oracle and SQL Server databases on-premises and in Azure cloud environments.
•Lead database migrations to Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and Oracle Database Services in Azure.
•Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
•Automate deployments and configurations using tools like Terraform, ARM, Bicep, and PowerShell.
•Monitor and optimize performance and costs in cloud environments.
•Implement database security controls including encryption and role-based access.
•Troubleshoot complex database issues and provide operational support.
•Document architecture, runbooks, and operational standards.


Qualifications
•Education: University degree or college diploma in a related field.
•Experience: Minimum 5 years of enterprise DBA experience, including administering Oracle 19c, SQL Server 2019+, and PostgreSQL on Azure.
•Cloud & Migration Expertise: Proven ability to lead or execute migrations to Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and Oracle Exadata/Oracle@Azure.
•High Availability & Recovery: Experience with Oracle Exadata, Data Guard, RAC, RMAN, and cloud HA/DR solutions.
•Automation & Scripting: Hands-on with PowerShell, Bash, Terraform, ARM, Bicep, and Azure CLI.
•Security: Experience implementing database security controls, including encryption and role-based access.
•Optional/Additional: Knowledge of Commvault, Dynatrace, and relevant certifications like Microsoft Azure Database Administrator Associate or Oracle Cloud certifications.
