The Engineering intern will be part of the engineering team and contribute to supporting the production of high-speed fiber optic telecommunication products. He will participate in the development of electro-optical modules through application development creation of automation tools and data analysis using Python programming. The intern will be invited to assist in implementing new automation tools aimed at standardizing data storage and analysis or to support production by developing graphical user interfaces (GUIs) to automate testing and manufacturing.
Tasks and Responsibilities :
- Develop and maintain software tools
- Share observations and propose / implement solutions
- Develop automation and data analysis algorithms
- Perform debugging and continuously improve interactions with test equipment
- Participate in engineering project reviews
- Participate in software architecture reviews
- Support technicians and test operators in production
- Perform any other task requested by the engineering team
Qualifications :
Controlled Goods and Technology
A part of this position you will be required to examine handle or transfer highly confidential equipment and technologies including technical data or any technical assistance (such as instructions training etc.) classified as controlled goods. These goods have military or strategic significant are critical to national security and are strictly regulated under the Defence Production Act (DPA) and the Controlled Goods Regulations (CGR) as part of Canadas Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
