Job description
Our client, is seeking an experienced, high-caliber Senior .Net Software Engineer to join their specialized Platform and Engineering team.

In this senior technical role, you will lead and participate in the design, development, optimization, and deployment of cloud-native .Net REST APIs, distributed microservices, and Event-Driven Architectures. You will collaborate with both onshore and offshore teams to build resilient enterprise systems that consume streaming data, populate document databases, and deploy seamlessly within automated container environments. This position requires deep full-cycle software engineering discipline, strong problem-solving acumen, and an accountability-first mindset.

Duration: 5-Month Contract

Timeline: July 27, 2026 – December 31, 2026

Work Location: Hybrid / Remote Flexibility (First preference is for candidates in Ontario or Montreal to visit the Toronto, ON corporate office at 1 York Street once a month for strategic collaboration. Open to 100% remote candidates across Canada who can work strict EST business hours).

Advantages
Tier-1 Enterprise Scalbox: Formulate microservices and architecture blueprints for a massive, multi-tenant financial platform.

Modern Cloud-Native Tech Stack: Deepen your expertise in advanced ecosystem tools including Kubernetes orchestration, Docker containerization, AWS, and Okta security integrations.

Real-Time Data Streaming Infrastructure: Lead the development of high-throughput messaging models, consuming and producing operational topics via Apache Kafka.

Mature DevOps Integration: Shape continuous deployment frameworks leveraging high-end continuous integration pipelines and automated infrastructure-as-code toolsets.

Responsibilities
API Platform Engineering & Microservices Development
Cloud-Native Programming: Code, build, and maintain production-grade domain microservices and RESTful Web APIs written in .NET Core, generated from formal OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.

Event-Driven Architecture: Design and build asynchronous, event-driven streaming services that consume and populate data streams utilizing Apache Kafka.

Database & Storage Engineering: Architect data access layers to efficiently query and populate relational databases (PostgreSQL/MS SQL) and NoSQL repositories (MongoDB).

Container Orchestration: Deploy and scale applications encapsulated in Docker containers across enterprise Kubernetes topologies (both on-premises and AWS).

DevOps Optimization & SDLC Governance
Pipeline Integration: Enhance, maintain, and support CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure orchestration workflows using tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket, Artifactory, Ansible, and Gradle.

Defect Triage & System Optimization: Systematically identify, isolate, debug, and remediate performance bottlenecks, memory defects, and security vulnerabilities within services.

Requirement Synthesis: Analyze and document technical specifications for data formatting, logical workflow states, logical data structures, and systemic interface checks.

Cross-Functional & Production Support: Coordinate daily with distributed multi-site and offshore engineering teams. Provide tier-3 operational support, ensuring production runtime environment stability, uptime, and strict adherence to enterprise security standards.

Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 5+ years of progressive professional experience in software engineering and application analysis across the full application development life cycle (SDLC).

Core Technology Stack: Extensive, expert-level hands-on development experience building .Net APIs and managing integrations involving REST, SOAP, JSON, OpenAPI, and MS SQL.

Event-Driven Fluency: 1+ years of direct, practical development experience within an Event-Driven Architecture environment.

DevOps Foundation: Proven, referenceable experience deploying software utilizing standard automated DevOps pipelines and tools.

Education: Post-secondary diploma or degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical equivalent field.

Soft Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; superior organizational capabilities; customer-obsessed mindset with a proven ability to lead and coordinate developer activities across cross-functional multi-site squads.

Nice-to-Have Skills & Assets
Practical infrastructure exposure to Kubernetes, Okta (OAuth2 security configurations), AWS cloud infrastructure, and MongoDB.

Prior business domain knowledge within the Group Benefits, Insurance, or Financial Services sectors.

Functional exposure to traditional Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) integration architectures and middleware technologies.

Summary
If you are a battle-tested Senior .Net Developer who excels at building Kafka-backed microservices, containerizing .Net Core applications in Docker, and driving DevOps pipeline excellence, this contract mandate offers a world-class platform for your skills. Bring your system integration background, cloud curiosity, and analytical precision to a market-leading enterprise team today!
