Job description

MatchBox Consulting Group is partnering with a top-performing mining client to hire a Senior Geotechnical Engineer for their long-life underground gold mine in Northern BC This opportunity offers stability growth and the chance to work with an established intermediate producer known for prioritizing safety performance and people

This role is ideal for a geotechnical professional with strong underground mining experience and leadership capabilities who’s open to rotational work and looking to make an impact in a high-performing technical team

You will

  • Provide direction to junior engineers and mentor geotechnical team members
  • Conduct geotechnical investigations and interpret geo-mechanical data
  • Develop and manage monitoring and QA/QC programs
  • Calibrate and maintain numerical models for excavation and slope stability
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and support mine-to-mill improvements
  • Oversee risk management related to ground stability and seismicity

What you bring

  • 10+ years of geotechnical experience with 5+ years in underground mining
  • Degree in Geotechnical or Mining Engineering
  • PEng in BC or eligible to register
  • Experience with micro-seismic systems and QA/QC implementation
  • Familiarity with Vulcan AutoCAD Minesight and other modeling software
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
