Technologist / Senior Project Manager – Building Science

We are one of Canada’s oldest geotechnical engineering consulting firms, recognized for

expertise in geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering, hydrogeology, materials testing, noise, and vibration studies, structural engineering and building science engineering. Customer service is our first priority. We provide professional services based on technological expertise, interactive project

management, a wealth of local knowledge, and creative solutions.

Our client base includes major developers, building owners, property management firms,

condominium properties, and many other public and private housing and commercial building groups.

We offer the opportunity of a rewarding career at a highly successful consulting firm. You will

be part of an engaging team of engineers and technologists working on exciting and challenging projects in a culture of mentorship, continuous learning, and collaboration.

Duties and responsibilities for this position will include:

• Remedial building envelope design, preparation of specifications/drawings, construction budget

estimates, and contract administration.

• Site inspection review of new construction and building rehabilitation projects.

• Visual and destructive investigations to produce technical engineering reports.

• Building envelope assessments, building condition assessments, roof condition assessments, reserve

fund studies and performance testing.

• Technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technologists.

• Various other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities.

The ideal candidate for this dynamic and challenging role should have the following qualifications:

• 3-year (Advanced) diploma in Architectural Technology.

• 7+ years of relevant work experience, including on-site inspections and reporting services.

• Certified Engineering Technologist ( is preferred.

• Ability to deal tactfully and communicate effectively with clients, contractors, engineers, architects, and co-workers.

• Effective organizational and time management skills, for concurrent handling multiple in-progress

projects.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.

• Demonstrate willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.

• Readily accept working in a business competitive environment.

• Proficiency using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

• Valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle is a must.

• Good oral and written English communication skills.

• Fluently bilingual in French and English would be considered an asset.

Physical Requirements

Field work may include climbing ladders, performing inspections at higher elevations (including swing stages, with proper training) and exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
