Job description

RWDI is a global climate and performance engineering consulting firm that helps its clients redefine what’s possible by overcoming design and operational challenges, while minimizing environmental, user, and resource impact. With deep technical expertise across a broad range of services, we drive success on ambitious building, industry, and infrastructure projects.

We are a values-based organization, which means everything we do relates back to our three core values : innovation, integrity, and integration. So, when we look for new people to join our team, alignment to these values is a vital piece of our people puzzle. Here’s what this looks like :

  • You push the boundaries of what’s possible.
  • People know they can rely on you to follow through on your commitments.
  • You believe that when a group of people come together, they can achieve more than any one person could alone.

If this sounds like you and you’re ready to join an award-winning organization and work alongside renowned technical and exceptionally innovative colleagues, RWDI is the place for you.

Position Overview :

RWDI is seeking an accountable individual to join its Air Emissions Testing team as an Instrumentation / Field Technician in our Fort St. John office.

  • Troubleshooting instrumentation failures and resolving problems quickly to maximize data uptime
  • Maintaining records of instrument maintenance, calibrations and parts required for continuous operation of ambient monitoring stations
  • Analyzing and consolidating air quality data sets, as well as preparing reports and responding to regulator comments
  • Occasionally interacting with clients, regulators, and the public while performing field work
  • Working in a fast-paced environment and carrying out tasks with minimal supervision
  • We are accepting applications from candidates with the following qualifications :

  • Post-secondary education in Environmental Technology or Instrumentation Technology
  • Minimum 1-year experience working in the Air Quality field
  • Ambient monitoring experience is an asset
  • Strong computer and analytical technical “hands-on” skills
  • An aptitude for practical problem solving
  • Field / site experience is a definite asset
  • Candidates should also possess :

  • The ability to read and work from schematic diagrams and instrumentation manuals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, as well as being highly motivated
  • Knowledge of safety procedures applicable to working at industrial locations
  • Willingness to travel and to work longer hours
  • The ability to perform manual tasks and lift heavier equipment safely
  • Ability to work on several projects at once and proven ability to successfully meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure a high degree of quality assurance and quality control
  • A valid driver’s license
  • If you possess 80% of the qualifications listed, please apply since you may have additional skills that would align well with this role.

    What We Offer :

  • An opportunity to redefine possible.
  • Work with a “Top Employer”
  • Salary range : $52,000.00 - $65,250.00
  • Group health benefits
  • Proactive and ongoing training, education, and a Learning Spending Account.
  • Fitness Spending Account
  • An abundance of career paths and opportunities to advance.
