Commercial Estimator
Kamloops or Kelowna, BCAre you a detail-driven estimator who thrives on bringing commercial construction projects to life—from concept to completion? We’re partnering with a well-established and growing construction organization that delivers high-quality commercial projects across the region. They’re looking for a Commercial Estimator to join their team and play a key role in both pre-construction and project execution.This is more than just an estimating role—you’ll be a central player working alongside project management, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to a high standard.What You’ll Be DoingEstimating & Cost Analysis
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates based on drawings, specs, and site visits
  • Analyze materials, labour, timelines, and overall project scope
  • Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
  • Support value engineering and cost optimization strategies
  • Maintain accurate cost databases for future bids
Project Coordination
  • Partner closely with the Project Manager from pre-construction through completion
  • Assist with scheduling, procurement planning, and resource allocation
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to keep projects on track
  • Support contract prep, change orders, and project documentation
  • Attend site meetings and contribute to progress tracking
Quality & Execution
  • Review plans and specifications for completeness and accuracy
  • Monitor projects to ensure alignment with budget, contracts, and quality standards
  • Conduct site visits, identify issues, and help implement solutions
  • Support deficiency tracking and project closeout
Client & Stakeholder Communication
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders
  • Provide updates on budgets, timelines, and project progress
  • Address questions and concerns with professionalism and clarity
Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain organized project files, estimates, and records
  • Track cost performance and forecasting
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and company processes
What You Bring
  • 3–5+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating
  • Experience working on projects such as office, retail, or industrial builds
  • Strong ability to interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications
  • Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes
  • Experience with estimating tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, Sage, Excel)
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have:
  • Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
  • Red Seal trade certification
  • CIQS or Gold Seal certification
