We are seeking professionals to join our team to help us build one of the most advanced, sustainable and passenger-friendly airports in the world. This position is for a newly created position.

Major Requirements:

  • Leads the owner’s oversight of construction coordination and inspection activities, with a particular focus on greenhouse gas reduction and net-zero initiatives.

  • Collaborates closely with the contractor’s construction management team to ensure the effective and timely delivery of project works.

  • Directs the owner’s construction management team, including the Deputy Construction Manager and Construction Inspectors, within the assigned sub-program.

  • Provides expert guidance on construction management and overall project delivery, particularly for sustainability-focused infrastructure.

  • Supports design management to validate constructability and alignment with procurement and net-zero construction objectives.

  • Participates in constructability assessments, scope definition, and value engineering exercises during the design phase.

  • Monitors and evaluates contractor performance to ensure compliance with technical specifications and sustainability goals.

  • Tracks and reports on construction progress and schedule adherence, highlighting key risks and mitigation strategies.

  • Contributes to the commercial process, including review and validation of contractor payment applications and invoicing.

  • Manages post-construction activities, facilitating smooth handover to operations and overseeing warranty period reviews.

  • Leads claims analysis and resolution recommendations to support efficient project delivery.

  • Coordinates with safety, quality assurance, and inspection teams to maintain compliance and performance standards.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess, at a very minimum:

  • University Degree + 8 years of relevant experience in construction management with a focus on large greenhouse gas / net zero related infrastructure projects.

Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Professional designation in a relevant field considered an asset.

  • Typically possesses a minimum of 15 years of professional experience in construction management, with a strong focus on delivering greenhouse gas reduction and net-zero projects valued over CAD $500 million.

  • At least 10 years of experience on major international airport projects or equivalent large-scale infrastructure programs.

  • A minimum of 10 years of on-site experience in highly regulated, complex, and operationally active environments.

  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in the successful delivery of complex projects and programs.

  • Comprehensive technical expertise across all project phases—design, planning, construction, operations, and maintenance—with a preference for large-scale or program-level experience.

  • Experienced in collaborative project delivery environments, with working knowledge of progressive contracting models such as Progressive Design-Build and Target Price.

  • Strong track record in stakeholder management, with the ability to produce clear, actionable reporting to support informed decision-making.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the facilitation of meetings and workshops with diverse stakeholder groups.
