Position Overview

The Branch Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of the local branch operations while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and profitable growth.

The Branch Manager provides leadership to employees, ensures compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements, and promotes a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate is a hands-on leader who creates a positive work environment while delivering exceptional customer service and operational performance.

P38 Energy Inc. is dedicated to providing our customers with the exceptional customer service with nine propane locations in Ontario and Quebec.

The Branch Manager plays a central role in overseeing local operations. As a hands-on field coordinator, he ensures the smooth delivery of propane, operational safety, team performance, and customer satisfaction. Actively present on site, he supports field staff, validates delivery routes based on seasonal realities, and ensure that all aspects—logistics, customer service, training, and compliance—work in alignment.


Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Manage the daily operations of the branch.
  • Ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient distribution of propane to residential, commercial, agricultural, and industrial customers.
  • Plan and coordinate routing, delivery schedules, staffing, inventory, and equipment readiness.
  • Monitor branch productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure branch facilities and equipment are properly maintained.
  • Maintain adequate inventory levels to support customer demand.
  • Coordinate branch activities with corporate operational objectives.

Leadership & People Management

  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop branch employees.
  • Provide leadership to drivers, service technicians, customer service representatives, and sales personnel.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and accountable work environment.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching.
  • Promote teamwork and employee engagement.
  • Address employee performance issues in collaboration with Human Resources when necessary.

Safety Leadership

  • Lead by example in promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and all applicable regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and reinforce safe work practices.
  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure employees understand and follow all safety procedures.
  • Promote continuous improvement in workplace safety.

Customer Service

  • Deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Build and maintain long-term customer relationships.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction remains a top priority.

Sales & Business Development

  • Support branch sales growth initiatives.
  • Develop new business opportunities.
  • Strengthen relationships with existing customers.
  • Identify opportunities to increase market share.
  • Work closely with the sales team to achieve business objectives.

Financial Management

  • Manage branch operating expenses.
  • Monitor budgets and financial performance.
  • Improve productivity and profitability.
  • Analyze key performance indicators and implement corrective actions when necessary.

Administration & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate operational records and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and other departments.


Requirements:
Qualifications

Education

  • College diploma or university degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field is considered an asset.
Experience
  • Minimum five (5) years of leadership experience.
  • Experience managing operational or service-based teams.
  • Experience in propane, fuel distribution, transportation, logistics, energy services, or a related industry is preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Strong operational management skills.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Planning and organizational skills.
  • Inventory management.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience using business management software.
