A leading national provider of fueling infrastructure solutions is seeking a National Director of Projects & Construction to oversee the strategic execution and optimization of its construction and field operations across Canada. This executive role plays a key part in aligning operational excellence, workforce planning, and client satisfaction across a network of nine branches and 130+ technical staff. Reporting to senior leadership, the Director will lead a team of three Regional Managers and be responsible for driving continuous improvement in service delivery, overseeing national project execution, managing budgets, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance. Key Responsibilities: Service Delivery & Operations
  • Ensure high levels of service and construction quality across all regions
  • Implement and enforce operational policies and procedures
  • Track KPIs and service metrics to identify performance gaps and opportunities
  • Lead national safety standards initiatives
Workforce & Resource Planning
  • Optimize staffing levels and workforce deployment
  • Support regional leadership in day-to-day resource allocation
  • Forecast future labor and project demands through data-driven analysis
  • Develop and implement training programs for ongoing employee development
Regional Leadership Support
  • Collaborate closely with three Regional Managers to drive operational consistency
  • Address project and staffing challenges, ensuring alignment with national objectives
  • Facilitate regular strategy and performance meetings
  • Serve as a key escalation point for client and stakeholder concerns
Continuous Improvement & Strategic Projects
  • Identify and execute on process improvements and best practices
  • Champion a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
  • Align national construction and project execution with company growth initiatives
Financial Oversight
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets and construction financial performance
  • Implement high-level cost control strategies
  • Prepare and present performance and profitability reports to executive leadership
Strategic Initiatives
  • Analyze operational and industry trends to identify opportunities for growth
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to align service operations with overall business goals
  • Remain informed on industry advancements, regulatory shifts, and market innovations
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related discipline is an asset
  • Proven experience in construction operations, workforce planning, and national field service management
  • Strong leadership background with a track record of managing multi-regional or national teams
  • Ability to build relationships across departments, regions, and with external stakeholders
  • Self-starter with exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills
