Job Description
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
The QTS (Quantitative Technology Services) Technology Risk Team is responsible for establishing and maintaining robust technology risk governance and cybersecurity oversight across Capital Markets. We are seeking an Associate Director to drive the development of comprehensive risk governance processes, mature our control frameworks across critical technology domains, and advance our technology risk management capabilities through AI-driven solutions. In this role, you will partner with stakeholders to build scalable governance structures, leverage automation and AI-powered tools to enhance risk assessment and monitoring, and strengthen RBC Capital Markets' overall technology risk posture through proactive risk identification, mitigation strategies, and self-service risk management capabilities.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Implement and mature Technology Risk and Cybersecurity Governance Frameworks across Capital Markets, standardizing advisory practices and establishing scalable governance structures. Contribute to design and implementation of advanced IT and cyber risk identification and control processes using automation and AI analytics.
- Collaborate with the Technology Risk Intelligence Team to develop intelligent Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) using machine learning and predictive analytics for real-time risk visibility. Monitor critical controls, ensure regulatory alignment, and drive continuous improvement through data-driven insights.
- Champion automation initiatives to reduce manual risk assessment and improve efficiency. Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies for intelligent risk monitoring and reporting. Assess responsible AI integration into risk workflows while maintaining compliance with RBC's AI Governance Framework and OSFI guidelines.
- Maintain relationships across Technology, Business Continuity, Internal Audit, Operational Risk, and IT Risk Centre of Governance. Manage programs to mitigate operational and project delivery risks, provide management reporting, and communicate the business impact of cyber risk investments.
- Provide risk advisory services to QTS / Capital Markets, focusing on technology, cybersecurity, and emerging risks, while supporting various risk assessment activities.
- Direct experience in proactive issue management within the three lines of defense model, ensuring identified risks and issues are effectively managed throughout their lifecycle.
