Job descriptionCollege Diploma in Building Science, Architectural Technology / Science, Construction Technology, or Civil Engineering Technology; BSc or applied science preferred. Experience of 3-5 years in Canadian Building Science industry, proficient in BECA, RCA, PCA. Knowledge of building envelope assemblies and systems like HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety. Proficiency in technical report writing, AutoCAD, and MS Office. Good communication skills and ability to handle field work and travel. Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle required.

Base pay range
CA$60,000.00 / yr - CA$70,000.00 / yr
Position Overview
Pinchin is seeking a Senior Building Science Technologist to join our Building Science and Sustainability team in Richmond, BC. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role involves conducting on-site inspections, assessments, and reporting for various building science services such as BECA, RCA, building envelope design, concrete / masonry rehabilitation, PCA, and asset management.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct investigations and assessments (PCA, BECA, RCA), prepare technical reports, and make recommendations.
- Perform invasive inspections and testing (roof cuts, exploratory openings, water / leak tests).
- Carry out quantity take-offs, measurements, and estimations.
- Develop restoration designs and specifications.
- Review construction to ensure standards and design compliance.
- Perform PCAs and capital planning per ASTM standards.
- Create detailed AutoCAD drawings.
- Coordinate project finances and maintain QA / QC protocols.
- Follow health and safety protocols.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
