OUR CLIENT HAS AN OPENING FOR A ROAD ROUTER OPERATOR (ROAD CONSTRUCTION). THIS ROAD ROUTER OPERATOR WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR OPERATING SPECIALIZED MACHINERY USED IN ROAD CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE PROJECTS. THIS ROLE REQUIRES A STRONG UNDERSTANDING OF ROAD CONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES, EQUIPMENT OPERATION AND DAFETY PROCEDURES.

JOB :  ROAD ROUTER OPERATOR (ROAD CONSTRUCTION)

PAY :  $22 / HR + (DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE)

TYPE : FULL TIME / POSSIBLY PERMANENT

LOCATION :  BRANTFORD

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • ABLE TO READ, WRITE AND FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS IN ENGLISH
  • HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUILAVENT
  • PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE OPERATING ROAD ROUTER
  • ABILITY TO READ AND INTERPRET BULEPRINTS, DISGRAMS AND PROJECT PLANS
  • STRONG MECHANICAL APTITUDE AND TROUBLESHOOTING SKILLS
  • EXCELLENT ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND ABILITY TO WORK IN A FAST-PACED ENVIRONMENT
  • PHYSICAL STAMINA
  • WILLINGNESS TO WORK OUTDOORS IN VARIOUS CANADIAN WEATHER CONDITIONS

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • OPERATE ROAD ROUTER MACHINERY TO CUT PRECISE GROOVES OR CHANNELS IN ASPHALT OR CONCRETE SURFACES ACCORDING TO PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS.
  • COLLABORATE WITH CONSTRUCTION CREW MEMBERS TO ENSURE ACCURATE POSITIONING AND ALIGNMENT OF THE ROAD ROUTER.
  • ADJUST ROUTER SETTINGS AND CUTTING BLADES AS NEEDED TO ACHIEVE DESIRED CUTTING DEPTH AND WIDTH.
  • MONITOR MACHINERY PERFORMANCE AND CONDUCT ROUTINE MAINTENANCE TO ENSURE OPTIMAL OPERATION.
  • ADHERE TO SAFETY PROTOCOLS AND REGULATIONS AT ALL TIMES TO PREVENT ACCIDENTS AND INJURIES.
  • COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY WITH SUPERVISORS AND TEAM MEMBERS TO COORDINATE WORK ACTIVITIES AND ADDRESS ANY ISSUES THAT ARISE.
  • MAINTAIN ACCURATE RECORDS OF WORK PERFORMED, INCLUDING MATERIALS USED AND HOURS WORKED.
  • FOLLOW COMPANY SAFETY POLICIES / MAINTAIN A SAFE WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • CANDIDATES MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WELL WITH OTHERS
