Job description

Job description

HireArt is helping our client find a Senior DevOps Engineer to join its team.

In this role, you’ll drive the automation, reliability, and operational efficiency of a platform that supports the full web application lifecycle—from infrastructure provisioning and application development to testing, deployment, security, and observability. You'll play a key role in managing cloud infrastructure, improving developer workflows, strengthening production reliability, and supporting the ADAS engineering organization.

The ideal candidate is an experienced DevOps engineer with a passion for automation, cloud infrastructure, and operational excellence. You thrive in collaborative, cross-functional environments and enjoy partnering with engineering teams across the U.S. and Japan to deliver reliable, scalable applications.

Schedule:
This role is expected to be fully onsite Monday through Friday during normal business hours, with occasional early morning or late evening meetings. While remote work may be available on occasion, candidates should expect to work onsite daily.

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will:
  • Provide extended U.S. coverage for SEV-1 and SEV-2 production incidents during standard business hours.
  • Identify manual processes and implement automation solutions that improve efficiency, reduce deployment times, and streamline operational workflows.
  • Deploy, manage, and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to ensure scalability, security, and reliability.
  • Build and maintain monitoring and observability solutions that support application performance, infrastructure health, and production uptime goals.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to enable reliable and efficient software delivery.
  • Apply critical security patches and platform updates within established service level objectives while communicating security advisories to stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, and best practices to support knowledge sharing and operational continuity.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or a related role
  • Experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitHub Actions
  • Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including container deployment, orchestration, and management
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, including services such as IAM, networking, and cloud infrastructure
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), preferably Terraform
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry, or the ELK Stack
  • Strong understanding of automation, cloud operations, and production support best practices
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, product, UX, and leadership teams

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with service mesh technologies such as Istio
  • Understanding of DevSecOps principles, including secure deployment practices, vulnerability management, and incident response
  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban)
  • Experience supporting multi-tenant or enterprise-scale platforms
  • Experience implementing backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions
  • Familiarity with Nx monorepo tooling and multi-tenant architectures

Benefits:
  • PTO and paid holidays
  • Pre-tax commuter benefits
  • Employer (HireArt) Subsidized Healthcare Benefits
  • Flexible Spending Account for healthcare-related costs
  • HireArt covers all costs for short and long-term disability and life insurance
  • 401k package

Commitment: This is a full-time, 3-month contract position (with the possibility of extension) staffed via HireArt. This position is onsite and available to candidates local to the Palo Alto, CA area.

HireArt values diversity and is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States. Unfortunately, we are not able to sponsor visas or employ corp-to-corp.
