  • Performs conceptual quantity takeoffs to support construction management and design-build pursuits.
  • Supports the estimate lead by populating tender forms, generating requests for information, anticipating proposal requirements, and assisting to establish a pursuit schedule.
  • Conducts risk and opportunity analysis by reviewing all bid related documents and utilizing project and industry knowledge.
  • Reviews all bids, performs bid evaluation, and selects the best trade contractor pricing.
  • Performs bid-day assignments and supporting other estimators to successfully close various scopes.
  • Coordinates with internal departments and external stakeholders to create site logistics, a schedule, an execution plan, and project budget requirements.
  • Completes and presents final cost estimate and tender submission to chief estimator and district management for review and approval before submission to the client.
  • Establishes a critical path schedule for the estimate/pursuit and reviewing work completed by estimators on the pursuit.
  • Takes ownership of medium-to-large estimates or a component of larger estimates and is accountable for that specific work scope.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in related discipline or trade experience or equivalent.
  • 8 years of progressive experience in construction cost estimating, and 6–12 months of on-site experience is preferred.
  • Successfully led pursuits valued at up to $150 million in delivery model hard bid and lump sum, construction management/cost reimbursable/target price, and design-build.
  • Knowledge of different construction methods; planning, scheduling, sequencing, quality, safety, and timelines.
  • Extensive knowledge of key principles involved in bid preparation; including quantity takeoff procedures and systems, subtrade partner procurement, pricing, interdepartmental functions, general expense philosophy and bid-closing procedures.
  • Understanding of compensation models, market conditions, business trends, internal historical information and competitors to develop win strategies.
  • Experience estimating multiple scopes, with the capability of building conceptual estimates.
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with stakeholders including the ability to solicit subtrade partners and suppliers.
  • Working knowledge of estimating software, advanced skills using Microsoft Office Suite and a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.

The estimated salary range for this role is $95,000 - $120,000, based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
