About GroupHEALTH

At GroupHEALTH, we’re proud of the work we do, but it’s how we do it that truly sets us apart. We are a fast-moving, ever‑evolving, and stable organization with deep roots and a bold vision: to transform the way Canadians experience employee benefits. We balance agility with long‑term stability to create meaningful, lasting impact.

Here, you’ll find more than just a job. You’ll be part of a purpose‑driven, people‑first culture where kindness, collaboration, and curiosity thrive. Whether you’ve been here fifteen years or fifteen days, one thing becomes clear very quickly; our people genuinely care about one another’s success and are deeply committed to delivering exceptional experiences for our clients and plan members.

Why This Role?

As a New Business Development Specialist, you’ll be on the front lines of growth, connecting with business leaders and introducing them to smarter, more effective benefits solutions. You’ll identify high‑potential prospects and book meetings for our licensed advisors, playing a critical role in helping organizations better support their people.

While this role is ideally suited for candidates located in the Barrie area, we welcome applications from qualified individuals across Ontario. Remote arrangements may be considered for candidates outside the Barrie area who are a strong fit for the team.

What You’ll Do:

  • Identify and prospect high‑potential businesses across Canada
  • Initiate outreach through phone and email to start meaningful conversations
  • Qualify leads and book appointments for our licensed sales advisors
  • Track outreach activity, follow‑ups, and outcomes in our CRM
  • Collaborate with teammates to share strategies, improve performance, and achieve team goals

We’ve Got Your Back:

You’ll be set up for success with a dedicated trainer, structured onboarding, and a proven playbook. You’ll learn our products, our approach, and how to confidently engage with business owners who are looking for a better way to deliver benefits.

What You Bring:

  • Experience in sales, cold calling, or business development
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, confident presence
  • A goal‑oriented mindset and comfort working in a fast‑paced environment
  • Comfort with technology and a desire to grow within a supportive, team‑based culture

Our Critical Competencies:

You will succeed in this role if you are:

  • Accountable: You take ownership of your outcomes, positive or negative, without blaming others within the team or cross‑functionally.
  • Effective Communicator: You communicate clearly, in a positive and respectful manner, while building relationships through tact and diplomacy.
  • Organized: You invest time in upfront planning to achieve goals and objectives.
  • KPI & Metric Deliverables: You demonstrate the consistent ability to meet or exceed monthly appointment quality and call volume targets through effective planning, execution, and performance management.

Your Career Path:

We offer a clear progression path with increasing base pay and bonus potential as you grow:

  • Level 1: $47,000 base + uncapped monthly bonuses (average $1,200)
  • Level 2: $52,000 base + uncapped monthly bonuses (average $1,800)
  • Level 3 (Senior): $57,000 base + uncapped monthly bonuses (average $2,500)

Perks & Benefits

  • Uncapped bonus potential with achievable targets
  • Hybrid work model (2 days in our Barrie office, 3 days from home)
  • Every second Friday off
  • 3 weeks’ vacation
  • Health and wellness programs
  • Ongoing learning and development opportunities

Ready to Make an Impact?

We’re leading the charge to disrupt the status quo in the Canadian benefits space. Our high‑skill, high‑volume, and high‑reward teams are driving this transformation and we’re looking for people who want to grow, perform, and make a real difference.
If you’re passionate about sales, motivated by purpose, and excited to build a meaningful career, we’d love to hear from you.
