Position Summary
As an IT Business Analyst, you will work with Business teams to understand their technology requirements and business processes and suggest appropriate improvements or efficiencies.
The successful candidate:
- Defines and manages scoping, requirements definition and prioritisation activities for initiatives.
- Facilitates input from stakeholders, provides constructive challenge and enables effective prioritisation of requirements.
- Establishes requirements baselines, obtains formal agreement to requirements, and ensures traceability to source.
- Investigates business situations where there is some complexity and ambiguity.
- Conducts root cause analysis and identifies recommendations for improvements.
- Develops and executes test plans and test cases. Analyses and reports on test activities, results, issues, and risks.
- Collaborates with technical teams to develop system integration plans and report on progress.
- Maintains application support processes and checks that all requests for support are dealt with according to agreed procedures.
Position Requirements
- University or College degree in IT, Business Analysis, or related discipline.
- Minimum 6 years of experience working as a Business Analyst in an IT environment.
- Experience supporting technology projects involving business systems or enterprise applications.
- Demonstrated experience gathering and documenting requirements.
- Proven understanding of project management methodologies and software development life cycle.
- Familiarity with business analysis and project management tools such as: Jira and Microsoft Visio.
- Understanding of systems analysis and modeling methods.
- Excellent communication, organizational, planning and prioritisation skills.
- Problem solving ability and good business judgement – knowing when to escalate, who to keep informed to identify next steps/resolution.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, self-starter, adaptable.
