Job description
Are you ready to drive impactful technology initiatives in a fast-paced utility environment? Our Edmonton client is seeking an Intermediate to Senior Business Analyst for a 12-month initial contract to support a diverse portfolio of application-focused projects across multiple business units. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a central role in 2026 strategic planning, helping to shape business cases and refine existing systems within a stable and essential industry.

Responsibilities
• Create defined requirement specifications and detailed workflows for information systems.
• Develop feasibility studies and analytical reports including accurate cost estimates.
• Provide tactical advice on how to apply information technology to solve business problems.
• Identify requirements for new software development and application implementations.
• Collaborate with technical teams to find and resolve functional system deficiencies.
• Communicate directly with end users to manage expectations and ensure project success.
• Facilitate workshops and coordinate complex activities across different working groups.

Qualifications
• Minimum of five years of professional experience working in information technology.
• At least three years of dedicated experience in a Business Analyst role.
• Strong knowledge of systems development, integration, and implementation approaches.
• Proven ability to work effectively within both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills used to build professional relationships.
