Actalent is looking to add experienced Controls Engineers with 4+ years of experience to their team to support a client in the KWCG area.

Job Description

Join a highly motivated, dynamic, multi-disciplined team to design and develop world-class automation solutions. This role involves creating machine concepts, designing control software, integrating software with electrical and mechanical systems, and overseeing machine installation at customer sites worldwide. You will work with cutting-edge technologies and processes, including PLCs, PCs, robotics, motion controllers, vision systems, and lasers.

100% Requirements (MUST HAVES)

• 4+ years of Controls Engineering experience
• Experience with Allen‑Bradley PLCs
• Hands-on troubleshooting skills
• Experience with commissioning and integration

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software programs (PLC and/or PC based) tailored to specific customer and project requirements.
• Commission control systems at our facility during the system integration stage and at the customer's site during installation.
• Travel to customer and supplier sites for installation, commissioning, and training duties.
• Select, test, and integrate hardware and software components such as robots, motion controllers, sensors, vision systems, and lasers.
• Collaborate with other departments to improve methods of integrating control technology for enhanced safety, functionality, and cost reduction.
• Ensure compliance with labor and material budgets and scheduled delivery dates.
• Work with customers, project managers, designers, toolmakers, and electricians to solve problems and provide complete, functional automation systems.
• Conduct thorough testing of machine functionality to verify software program completeness.
• Provide accurate documentation for each project.
• Advise customers on solving technical problems.
• Provide customer training specific to their current project, including machine operation and programming.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Cambridge, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in Cambridge,ON.
