Business Intelligence Manager - Cruise

Introduction to the team

Travel Partnerships and Advertising helps partners, including hotels, airlines, destination marketing organizations (DMOs) and more, deliver excellent traveler and B2B experiences. We drive growth for our partners and the Expedia Group marketplace through competitive supply, our leading advertising and travel media network and affiliate solutions.

We’re seeking a Business Intelligence (BI) Manager to join the Cruise Team in the Vancouver, BC. You will be the primary point of contact for all analytics needs as they relate to the Cruise line of business (LOB) and MS Power BI.

You will develop new and creative business intelligence solutions for both our Corporate Cruise Team as well as our network of Expedia Cruises Franchisees, Managers, Vacation Consultants. You will maintain and enhance the current suite of reports and dashboards. As a key business partner to our leadership team, you’ll play an essential role in the evolution of our BI strategy and capabilities.

In this role, you will:

  • Own the MS Power BI and MS Fabric platforms, both from a tool perspective as well as project ownership lens

  • Service as the primary contributor for the analytics roadmap, working closely with Data Engineers on performance and reliability

  • Be responsible for all BI-related documentation, communication, and governance

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business – including end users, SMEs, training, and engineering – to produce the best solutions possible

  • Work with technology teams to bring data to life, from concept to execution

  • Conduct research, gather detailed business and technical requirements and support product development

  • Actively monitor key metrics, identify trends, and recommend improvements

  • Act as an escalation point for BI or project issues

  • Manage the BI intake process and ensure clear prioritization and delivery of new requests

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science field or related technical field; or Equivalent related professional experience

  • 5+ Years of experience in the BI space

  • Working experience with MS Power BI

  • Working experience in SQL and scripting languages (Python, etc.)

  • Working experience in data pipelines, table structures and writing efficient queries

  • Experience with large datasets

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, in particular as a conduit between the business and technology

  • Solid understand of data engineering fundamentals and BI architecture

  • Strong time management skills to allow for work on multiple streams

  • Demonstrable experience with Power BI and excellent knowledge of Excel

The total cash range for this position in Vancouver is $120,500.00 to $169,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $193,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
