Apprentice Carpenter $22.00+ per hour - Edmonton, AB (Travel Required)

Are you an eager Apprentice Carpenter looking to sharpen your skills on massive, high-impact projects like large-scale modular builds?
Do you have your own tools, a clean driving record, and a strong work ethic that sets you apart on the site?
Are you ready to jump on a great rotation, travel out of town, and play a key role in an exciting 186-unit project in Calgary starting this September?

If so, we’d love to hear from you! Our client, a dynamic and growing leader in construction, is looking for motivated Apprentice Carpenters to join their team. This is a hands-on role designed for a hardworking tradesperson who is proactive, safe, and eager to learn all aspects of the trade—from framing to finishing.

As an Apprentice Carpenter, you will work alongside experienced Journeymen on residential, commercial, and modular projects. This role involves rotational out-of-town travel (e.g., 21/7, 10/2, or 10/3 schedules), including an upcoming major modular housing project in Calgary. (Note: We are primarily seeking full-time team members based out of Edmonton, but are also open to Calgary-based carpenters for a 5–6 month project-based contract).

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time (Project-based contract available for Calgary applicants)
Location: Edmonton, AB (Projects in Edmonton & Calgary / Travel Required)
Schedule: Rotational shifts for travel projects (21/7, 10/2, or 10/3); Standard local hours 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Environment: Field / Construction Sites (Indoor & Outdoor, Modular, Framing, Finishing)
Wage: Starting at $22.00 per hour (Based on experience and qualifications)

Responsibilities
What will you be doing?
Assembly & Installation: Assist with framing, roofing, siding, drywall, flooring, and interior/exterior finishes on modular and commercial structures.
Material Prep: Accurately measure, cut, and shape wood and other materials using hand and power tools to meet exact project specifications.
Safety Leadership: Maintain a clean, hazard-free work area and adhere strictly to all site safety regulations and best practices.
Blueprint Reading: Follow blueprints, technical drawings, and instructions provided by Field Managers and Journeymen Carpenters.
Component Work: Assist with the installation of cladding, flashing, insulation, doors, and windows across all project phases.
Tool & Equipment Care: Maintain personal and specialty tools to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate daily operation.

Qualifications
What are we looking for in a candidate?
Experience: Minimum 1 to 3 years of prior construction/carpentry experience (Registered Apprentice status preferred).
Licensing & Travel: Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean abstract, reliable personal transportation, and willingness to work out-of-town rotational shifts.
Certifications: CSTS 2020, WHMIS 2015, and clear Criminal Record Check required. (First Aid and Fall Protection are major assets).
Tools: Must possess standard personal hand and power tools required for the trade (specialty tools provided).
Physical Capability: Strong physical stamina, ability to lift heavy materials, work at heights/confined spaces, and handle outdoor weather conditions.
