Job description

Position Overview

Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. (ACSI) is a multi-disciplined construction company offering superior civil, electrical and mechanical services including piping, insulation, scaffolding, and module fabrication. We’re always on the search for exceptional craft candidates to fill our ever-expanding project portfolios. ACSI is seeking experienced Formwork Carpenter Apprentices & Journeypersons with industrial experience who will be integral to our project’s success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpreting and applying information found in drawings, specifications
  • Undertaking the layout (selecting materials, planning sequences and methods of work, measuring and marking materials).
  • Prepare, erect and remove structural formwork for concrete foundations, walls, columns, beams and shafts.
  • Cutting and shaping materials and joining them with nails, screws, bolts or glue.
  • Checking completed units to be sure they are level, square, plumb and the right size, shape and location.
  • General carpentry such as framing, hoarding, doors and frames and other activities as assigned.
  • Journeyperson will mentor apprentices respectfully and oversee their safety.

Requirements and Experience

  • CSTS-20 Certificate
  • Fall Protection
  • Confined Space Entry Monitor
  • Experience as a Formwork Carpenter in an industrial construction environment
  • Proven ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments.
  • Must have a strong understanding of industrial safety procedures and policies.
  • Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal.

Project: DOW FSP2Z

Location: Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta

Rate: $29.63 to $49.38 per hour

Overtime: as per collective agreement

Schedule: 5x2, 6am start 10 hours/day.

Camp: N/A

Allowances: N/A

Candidates may be required to complete a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol screen and/or criminal record check.
